広島県尾道市（しまなみ）の美術館/ポール・アイズピリ、ピカソ、ルオー、小林和作、梅原龍三郎、中川一政、林武などを所蔵。チェンバロによるコンサートやフレンチレストランでの食事も楽しめます。

 この度、なかた美術館では「庭」をテーマにした展覧会を開催いたします。

遠い昔から人々はあらゆる庭を作ってきました。

土地の気候や日当たりといった環境にあわせながらも、多種多様な植物を集め、たゆまず手を加えて形作られる庭は、
人々の理想を反映する存在でもあります。

ある区切られた場のなかに表現されるという点では、絵画もまた庭のようなものだと言えるでしょう。

その眺めは暮らしに寄り添い、季節の移ろいを告げ、時に思いがけない姿を見せて、新しい発見をもたらしてくれます。

本展では、20世紀初頭にパリで活躍した画家や日本の洋画家たちが描いた色とりどりの花や風景画のコレクションとともに、
現代の作家たちによる植物の表現をご紹介いたします。

様々な作品が集まって織りなす春の庭を存分にお楽しみください。

There is a long and rich history of gardening that traces the human desire to cultivate the land back to forest gardens in the prehistoric era. This ever-evolving world of garden design can be seen to respond to changing horticultural and social fashions as gardeners tame nature into miniature worlds, resplendent with luxuriant aesthetics.

Whether they be a place where humans and nature meet, a site for experiencing time through the passage of the seasons or a utilitarian space, gardens present vibrant microcosms which allow us to engage with the world afresh. Carefully grown gardens create idyllic spaces which allow sanctuary from the ‘outside’ world; in this context the garden can also be read as a return to Eden – paradise regained within the everyday.

We may consider painting as analogous to gardening; both in the painter's construction of a world within a confined space and also in the artwork's role as an enlivener to our daily life. In this exhibition the viewer is taken on an immersive journey through botanically inspired works from School of Paris artists of the early twentieth century alongside modern Japanese painters and contemporary artists. Haru no Niwa brings into the gallery the ravishing joy of experiencing a “Spring Garden”.

旅にぴったりの小さなポーチに、刺繍で草花の模様を施します。

 

■親子ワークショップ『絵と庭の旅』

参加費：親子ペア 1,500円　（子ども一人につき500円）

対象：4才以上

持ち物：特になし（動きやすい服装でお越しください）
